At The PawPad, your dog’s comfort, health and wellbeing always come first. We believe kindness comes before appearance.

• If your dog’s coat is matted, tight, or uncomfortable, I will always be honest with you.

• Severe matting traps heat, dirt and bacteria and can be painful — in these cases, the kindest option is to shave the area out gently. I will always explain this to you first and confirm your agreement before proceeding.

• I will never force dematting that causes stress or discomfort to your dog.

2. Pricing & Services

• Prices are based on breed, coat length, condition, and the service required.

• Standard prices apply for well-maintained, mat-free coats.

• Extra time will be charged at £15 per 30 mins for matting, heavy shedding, or coats requiring extra care — this will be discussed and agreed with you before work begins.

• Puppy grooms are priced separately — these are shorter, gentle introduction sessions to build confidence and routine.

• I reserve the right to adjust the final price on the day if coat condition differs from what was described.

3. Appointments & Cancellations

• Please arrive promptly for your appointment — I run on careful timing to keep every dog calm and unrushed.

• If you need to cancel or reschedule, please give at least 24 hours’ notice. 

• Late cancellations, no-shows, or same-day cancellations may incur a 50% cancellation fee.

• If you arrive more than 15 minutes late, I may need to shorten your appointment or reschedule to ensure other dogs are not kept waiting.

4. Health & Safety

• For the safety of all dogs, please do not bring your dog to the salon if they have been unwell, had diarrhoea, or been in contact with infectious illness in the last 48 hours.

• I cannot groom dogs with fleas — if fleas are found during grooming, I will pause and reschedule after treatment, and a sanitation fee may apply.

• Please inform me at booking if your dog has any behavioural concerns, anxiety, health conditions, or special requirements — I will adapt care accordingly.

• I am fully insured, pet first aid trained and City & Guilds qualified.

5. Grooming Agreement

• Every dog is different — I will do my very best to achieve the style you ask for, but results may vary based on coat type, texture, and condition.

• Photos of previous grooms are welcome and very helpful — they help me understand the look you love, but I will always work with what is kindest and healthiest for your dog.

• By booking with The PawPad, you agree to these terms and confirm you are the legal owner or authorised carer of the dog.
